The authors, Mahmoud Khalifeh and Arild Saasen from the uUniversity of Stavanger say:

"We know that every drilled well has an end, it is permanent plug and abandonment. Since 2010, the subject of Permanent Plug and Abandonment (PP&A) has received significant attention of politicians, regulatory authorities, operating companies and general public.

Since 2012, University of Stavanger (UiS) has been the academic frontier both nationally and internationally to develop the subject and educating engineers on permanent P&A of hydrocarbon wells. Along the way, different organizations help us to develop and disseminate the subject.

Now, we have the privilege to inform you that after 5 years of hard work, the first book on P&A is ready for people who are interested in the subject. The book is titled “Introduction to Permanent Plug and Abandonment of Wells”. As P&A is an international concern, the authors decided to make the digital format of the book free for downloading by everyone, everywhere and at any time. The digital format is brought to you free of charge as courtesy of UiS, Norwegian Oil and Gas P&A Forum and Springer. "
