Surfactant products / systems are screened based on solubility and preliminary phase behavior evaluations. Promising surfactant systems will be further evaluated by studying phase behavior in larger samples, measuring bulk properties (interfacial tensions and viscosity) and determining the injectivity. The injectivity in the presence of oil, the recovery efficiency and the retention of surfactants will be determined in unsteady state experiments, both for outcrop cores and model oil and then reservoir cores and live oil.
